The Life Patron of the Tukur Yusufu Buratai Golf Resort and Country Club (TYBGRCC), Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Rtd), has congratulated the newly elected Executive Committee of the club, urging them to work in unity and uphold the club’s legacy of excellence.

Buratai delivered the message following the successful conclusion of the club’s 2026 elections, which produced a new leadership team after keenly contested polls.

He commended the Electoral Committee, chaired by Mr. Ralph Ojabo, for conducting what he described as a transparent, orderly, and credible election, noting that the process reflected the democratic maturity and civic responsibility of TYBGRCC members.

“The keen interest shown in the contested positions and the decisive mandate received by the elected executives underscore the confidence the club places in their collective leadership,” the Life Patron said.

He congratulated members of the new Executive Committee, including Vice Captain Ali Peters, Lady Captain Jumai Adamu, General Secretary Prince Adetunji Adeyeye, Competition Secretary David Gabriel, Course Officer Stephen Okpe, Financial Secretary Haastrup Samuel, Treasurer Isaiah Okonofua, and House and Bar Officer Charles Ona.

According to Buratai, the executives’ willingness to serve is a driving force behind the club’s growth and progress. “You assume office at a promising time. The clear mandate, particularly in the contested seats, provides a strong foundation for unity and decisive action,” he stated.

The former Chief of Army Staff urged the new leadership to function as a cohesive team, stressing that they are now custodians of the club’s heritage and architects of its future. He encouraged them to prioritize the interests of all members, promote inclusiveness, and pursue initiatives that enhance facilities, competitions, and camaraderie within the club.

Buratai also praised the high level of participation during the elections and acknowledged all contestants, including those who were not successful. “To all candidates who stepped forward, whether successful or not, I say thank you. Your passion is what makes our club strong,” he said.

Reaffirming his commitment to TYBGRCC, the Life Patron assured the new executives of his full support and expressed confidence in their ability to elevate the club to greater heights of excellence, member satisfaction, and sporting achievement. “May God guide your deliberations and grant you wisdom and strength,” he concluded.
