The Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA) has delivered medical and humanitarian support to over 500 beneficiaries in Abuja, reinforcing the Nigerian Air Force’s people-centred welfare strategy and its commitment to the wellbeing of personnel and their families.

The Medical and Humanitarian Outreach, held on 24 January 2026 at the Nigerian Air Force Base, Bill Clinton Drive, Abuja, formed part of activities marking the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day. Priority beneficiaries included widows of fallen heroes and wives of serving Nigerian Air Force personnel.

During the outreach, beneficiaries received free medical consultations, health screenings, and other essential healthcare services, alongside the distribution of food and non-food items aimed at improving overall wellbeing.

Speaking at the event, the National President of NAFOWA, Mrs Ngozi Aneke, described the outreach as a purposeful humanitarian extension of the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to honouring the sacrifices of its personnel by safeguarding the welfare of their families. She noted that NAFOWA remains firmly aligned with the Service’s welfare philosophy, implementing targeted healthcare, social support and empowerment initiatives that strengthen family stability, boost morale and promote resilience within the Nigerian Air Force community.

Mrs Aneke stressed that sustained attention to health and social welfare is critical to force morale and operational effectiveness, explaining that the outreach was designed not only to provide tangible assistance but also to offer reassurance, solidarity and a sense of institutional care to beneficiaries.

She added that the initiative aligns with the Chief of the Air Staff’s welfare-first leadership priority, which recognises personnel wellbeing as a strategic enabler of operational readiness and mission success.

The NAFOWA National President expressed appreciation to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal SK Aneke, the Commander 053 NAF Camp, Nigerian Air Force medical personnel, volunteers, partners and other stakeholders for their support, while reaffirming NAFOWA’s commitment to remain a dependable humanitarian partner in advancing the Nigerian Air Force’s welfare and people-centric objectives.
