Axion Group has announced the introduction of its breakthrough construction products, Axion Hydroshield Polybond and Axion Totalcrete Cement engineered to provide 100 per cent waterproof and crack-proof protection for walls, floors and other building surfaces. The company says the new products offer a lasting solution to the persistent challenges of dampness, moisture infiltration and related structural defects in buildings across Nigeria.
According to Axion, both products, developed using advanced Canadian technology, serve as high-performance screeding materials capable of completely blocking water penetration, eliminating rising damp, stopping algae formation and preventing the early deterioration of building finishes. This development provides builders, contractors and homeowners with an affordable and technologically advanced alternative to recurring problems such as damp walls, peeling paint, mould growth and structural weakening.
Axion Hydroshield Polybond is formulated to create a seamless waterproof barrier during screeding, ensuring that water does not seep through concrete surfaces. When used together with the multipurpose Totalcrete Cement, the combination delivers a reinforced screed layer that stays dry, strong and durable even in highly moisture-prone environments.
Group Chief Executive of Axion Nigeria, Dr. Oke Eze, called on stakeholders across the built environment including architects, engineers, block makers, developers and homeowners to embrace modern, innovative construction technologies capable of guaranteeing safer, stronger and more durable buildings.
He noted that the rise in cases of dampness, cracks, mould and early deterioration of structures is largely due to outdated construction methods and poor-quality materials. “Hydroshield Polybond and Totalcrete Cement represent the future of waterproof construction in Nigeria. When people insist on the right products, we eliminate damp problems and improve the overall lifespan of our buildings,” he said.
Dr. Eze further reaffirmed Axion’s commitment to providing science-driven solutions that reduce maintenance costs and prevent structural damage. He stressed that wider adoption of the new products would help address one of the country’s most common and expensive building challenges.
With Nigeria’s increasing demand for durable housing and resilient infrastructure, Axion’s new waterproof screeding system is now being positioned as a potential game-changer for the construction industry.
Also speaking at the unveiling, the Managing Director of CM Services Limited, Catherine Kadiri, described the launch of the Axion Innovative Construction Products as a major milestone for the sector. She noted that the solutions were specifically created to make construction work easier, faster and more reliable for professionals across the value chain.
Kadiri stated that the new products directly address the daily challenges faced by engineers, builders, technicians and artisans from harsh project-site conditions to repairs that fail to stand the test of time. “Axion was created with you in mind,” she said. “These products are designed to solve real, everyday challenges giving us better bonding, stronger protection and faster application times. In simple terms, Axion helps us work smarter, not harder.”
She added that beyond their technological advantages, the products symbolize a future where consistency and excellence become standard practice within the construction sector. According to her, the growing needs of communities and the rising expectations for durable infrastructure require solutions that blend practicality with innovation.
“Construction is changing,” she said. “The future belongs to products that help us build strong roads, safe homes and lasting infrastructure a future where challenges on-site don’t slow us down, where we build not just structures, but trust.”
Kadiri concluded by highlighting that the unveiling of the Axion products marks new opportunities for craftsmanship, efficiency and sector-wide growth, while expressing appreciation to partners and stakeholders supporting the vision. “Together, we are building better, building stronger and building a future we can all be proud of,” she said.
