The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, CON, has extended an invitation to members of the Council of State and the Police Council to attend a hybrid strategic meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Council Chambers, Aso Villa, Abuja.

In an official statement signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Segun Imohiosen, it was disclosed that the meeting is being convened in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening national governance mechanisms and addressing key issues affecting national security and policing.

According to the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Affairs Office, Dr. Emanso Okop Umobong, the meeting will deliberate on matters of national importance and other pressing issues relevant to the safety and security of citizens. The session with members of the Council of State is slated to commence at 1:00 p.m., while the meeting with the Police Council will follow at 2:00 p.m.

The SGF noted that members have been requested to participate either physically or virtually, in keeping with the hybrid nature of the engagement. He emphasized that the discussions are expected to provide valuable insights and policy directions toward improving security coordination, governance efficiency, and inter-agency collaboration at the highest levels of government.

The strategic meeting, which brings together former presidents, governors, and top national security and administrative officials, reflects the Tinubu administration’s resolve to pursue collective dialogue and decisive action in tackling the nation’s most urgent challenges.
