The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its offensive against hostile elements in Kwara State, executing multiple coordinated missions under Operation Fansan Yamma (OPFY) Sector 3 on Sunday, 28th September 2025. The operations, which targeted Kakihun, Oke-Ode, Babanla, and surrounding areas, combined reconnaissance, close air support, and surveillance in a sweeping campaign designed to neutralize threats and reinforce the safety of both troops and civilians.
According to an official statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the air component sustained pressure on criminal networks through precision engagements and continuous monitoring. He revealed that during the missions, hostile elements sighted east of Babanla were decisively struck, while concurrent surveillance flights gathered vital intelligence over key settlements and military positions to aid ground forces in ongoing operations.
Air Commodore Ejodame stressed that the successful missions highlight the Air Force’s resolve to maintain air superiority and deny hostile actors freedom of action. “These missions reaffirm NAF’s commitment to protecting troops and civilians, maintaining air dominance, and sustaining pressure on all hostile elements,” he said. “The Air Force remains unwavering in its determination to defend the nation’s territorial integrity and restore lasting peace and security.”
The statement further noted that all missions were completed successfully without hitches, a testament to the synergy between reconnaissance, strike operations, and real-time intelligence gathering. The NAF urged Nigerians to continue to remain confident, vigilant, and supportive of the Armed Forces as the military sustains decisive actions against criminal elements across the country.
