The Federal Government has announced the official theme for the 2025 Independence Anniversary, tagged “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation.”
According to an official statement signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Segun Imohiosen, the theme underscores the need for unity, collaboration, and patriotism among the public sector, private sector, civil society, and the citizenry in the collective task of building a nation characterised by sustainable peace, prosperity, and progress.
The statement noted that since attaining independence on October 1, 1960, Nigeria has successfully navigated several challenges while recording significant achievements across diverse economic sectors. It stressed that consolidating these gains and pursuing greater national objectives requires joint effort from all stakeholders to forge a stronger and more prosperous nation for all citizens.
Government activities and programmes for the 65th Independence Anniversary are expected to align with the official theme, ensuring that its message resonates across all areas of national endeavour in the actualisation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
As part of the celebration, a series of events have been lined up, including a Juma’at Prayer scheduled for Friday, 26 September at 1:00 pm, an Inter-Denominational Church Service on Sunday, 28 September at 10:00 am, and a World Press Conference on Monday, 29 September at 10:00 am.
The unveiling of the theme sets the tone for Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, which will highlight both the nation’s resilience and its aspirations for a more united and prosperous future.
