NEMA TRAINS NYSC/EMVs IN ADO-EKITI

As part of spreading its tentacles aimed at risk reduction, the NEMA Ekiti Operations Office has organized a training for members of the NYSC EMVs in Ado Ekiti.


The training was aimed at making use of the corps members as Agent of Disaster Risk Reduction by regularly organizing Sensitization and Awareness Campaigns within their jurisdiction and provide basic First Aid to victims of Emergencies around them.


Overview of Disaster Management and the roles of EMVs was one of the papers presented Mr David Okorie.


He noted that in order to mitigate the adverse effect of Disasters, it is pertinent to put in mechanisms of Early warning system. He stressed the need for Sensitization and Awareness, noting that it is key to preventing Disasters from occurring and can mitigate the adverse effects of Disasters incase they eventually occur.
He charged the EMVs to regularly embark on Sensitizations and Awareness Campaigns to enlighten the people about measures to avert Disasters.
Mr Abogunrin Adesina took the practical demonstration of Basic First Aid.

The corps members were exposed to best practices to Manage various incidences.
