The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has assured that the Armed Forces of Nigeria will continue to deploy renewed strategies and robust operations to address the evolving security challenges facing Katsina State and the country at large.

General Musa gave the assurance today when he received a delegation of National Assembly members from Katsina State at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja. The delegation, led by Senator Abdulazeez Musa Yar’Adua, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, commended the Armed Forces for its sacrifices and dedication to the security of the state and Nigeria in general.

In a statement signed by the Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the lawmakers were quoted as paying glowing tribute to the gallant troops who had made the ultimate sacrifice in the fight against insecurity, describing their contributions as “heroic and invaluable.”

The delegation briefed the CDS on the prevailing security situation in Katsina State and requested additional deployment of troops and military assets to tackle emerging threats in the state.

In his response, General Musa thanked the lawmakers for their visit and pledged continued partnership with the National Assembly in strengthening national security. He also disclosed that the military had introduced new tactics and strategies to effectively respond to evolving threats, stressing that the ultimate goal remains the restoration of peace and stability across the country.

The visit, according to the statement, underscored the shared commitment of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and the National Assembly to safeguarding citizens from insecurity and defending the nation against all threats.
