The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has extended heartfelt felicitations to Muslim members of the NYSC family across the country on the occasion of this year’s Eid-El-Kabir celebration, calling on them to reflect on the deeper meaning of the season and renew their commitment to service and nation-building.

An official signed statement by the Acting Director Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu disclosed that in a goodwill message made available to the press, the NYSC DG congratulated Muslim corps members, staff, and stakeholders for witnessing yet another Eid celebration, urging them to draw lessons from the festival which embodies the virtues of sacrifice, selflessness, compassion, and devotion.

“As you celebrate, I urge you to endeavour to reflect on the true significance of the Eid, which embodies selflessness, compassion, and the willingness to make sacrifices for peace and the overall development of society,” the DG stated.

He emphasized that Eid-El-Kabir offers a unique opportunity for Muslim faithful to re-commit themselves to the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) by emulating his unwavering faith, obedience, and dedication to the service of God and humanity.

“In view of this, I further urge you to use the occasion of this year’s celebration to re-commit yourselves to the teachings of the Holy Prophet and strive to emulate his unwavering faith, obedience and dedication to the service of God and humanity, starting with your selfless service to the NYSC and your various host communities,” the DG added.

The Director General encouraged corps members to remain exemplary in conduct, uphold the values of the Scheme, and continue to contribute positively to their places of primary assignment and the larger society.

He concluded by wishing all Muslim corps members a joyous and peaceful Eid celebration, while urging them to observe the season with gratitude, spiritual reflection, and renewed dedication to nation-building.
