The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has dealt a decisive blow to Boko Haram terrorists in Borno State, following a precision overnight airstrike in support of ground operations under Operation Hadin Kai. The operation, which occurred in the early hours of Friday, 30 May 2025, targeted fleeing terrorists in Bita, resulting in the neutralisation of scores of insurgents.
According to an official signed statement by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, the air component of Operation Hadin Kai executed the coordinated air assault under the cover of darkness, marking one of the most significant aerial engagements against Boko Haram in recent times.
“The highly coordinated operation represents a major leap in ongoing efforts to dismantle the operational capabilities of terrorist elements undermining national security in the North East,” the statement read.
Following the successful airstrike, ground troops swiftly launched clearance and exploitation operations to consolidate on the gains achieved, further diminishing the operational footprint of the terrorists in the area.
The NAF reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to defending the nation’s territorial integrity and ensuring the safety of law-abiding citizens. It assured the public that all necessary measures are being taken to deny terrorist elements any safe haven within Nigerian territory.
