Troops of 3 Division and Operation SAFE HAVEN have neutralised two armed bandits and recovered arms, ammunition, cash, and other items during a successful raid on a criminal hideout in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State.
According to an official signed statement by Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, Media Information Officer, Operation SAFE HAVEN, the intelligence-led operation was conducted on May 12, 2025, at Teng Mountain/Forest.
“The troops made contact with the bandits and overpowered them with superior firepower, leading to the elimination of two assailants.
“The operation also led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle, a fabricated rifle capable of firing 7.62mm special ammunition, one AK-47 magazine, seven rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, four mobile phones, two motorcycles, and a cash sum of ₦157,900.
“The recovered arms and equipment are now in custody, while the mobile phones are under forensic examination to aid further investigations and arrests of other syndicate members.
“Operation SAFE HAVEN reiterates its commitment to sustaining aggressive operations against criminal elements and assured the public of continued efforts to secure lives and property across the area of responsibility.” The statement concluded.
