The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, on Monday visited a corps member, Idowu Babatunde Solomon, who is currently recuperating at the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola, following surgery.

Solomon, a member of the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream I with registration number AD/25A/0798, was diagnosed with acute appendicitis during the orientation exercise in Adamawa State. He underwent a successful surgical procedure after being referred from the camp clinic to the teaching hospital.

In an official statement signed by the Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the NYSC DG expressed his gratitude to God for the successful operation and wished the corps member a speedy recovery.

Brigadier General Nafiu commended the hospital’s medical personnel for their swift response and professionalism in managing the case. He also praised the Chief Medical Director, Professor Adamu Bakari, for what he described as exemplary leadership and effective coordination of healthcare delivery at the facility.

Responding, Professor Bakari thanked the Director General for the thoughtful visit, noting that it served as a morale booster for both the patient and the medical staff. He assured that Solomon would continue to receive comprehensive care until full recovery.

Corps Member Solomon, a graduate of the Federal Polytechnic Offa, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Director General for the visit. He also thanked the NYSC Adamawa State Coordinator, Mrs. Caroline Osoroh Chinedu, for her consistent support, as well as the hospital management for their efficient service delivery.

The visit underscores NYSC’s commitment to the welfare of corps members across the country.
