Navy Holdings Limited (NHL) has issued a public warning regarding a trending video being circulated online by fraudsters claiming to represent the company in the sale of property at Lake View Estate, Navy Town, Abuja.

In a statement made available to Defence Correspondents in Abuja on Thursday, Commander Abdulsalam Sani, Public Relations Officer for the Group Managing Director/CEO of NHL, clarified that the company had no association with the scam. He stated that the NHL has not engaged any third party or agent to facilitate the sale of its land or properties.According to the statement,

“The NHL wishes to state that it has not engaged the services of any third party as an agent to facilitate sales of its land or property. The NHL, being the sole owner of Navy lands, deals directly with its subscribers. Hence, the NHL calls on potential subscribers not to deal with any individual fronting as an agent.”

The statement follows reports of a viral video being used by fraudsters to lure unsuspecting members of the public into making payments for properties supposedly linked to the Navy.

The NHL stated that it is actively working to uncover and bring to justice those behind the attempted fraud.

In the meantime, the NHL urged members of the public interested in acquiring its properties to visit its official office located on Aso Clinic Road, Asokoro, adjacent to the Army War College Nigeria.

The NHL also appealed to the media and the general public to help disseminate this information to protect citizens from falling victim to the fraudulent scheme.“We thank the public for their usual support and urge everyone to remain vigilant,” the statement added.

The statement further reads: “The attention of the Navy Holdings Limited (NHL) has been drawn to a trending video on online platforms by some unscrupulous elements attempting to swindle unsuspecting Nigerians of their hard-earned money through claims about its properties at Lake View Estate, Navy Town, Asokoro.“

The NHL wishes to state that it has not engaged the services of any third party as an agent to facilitate the sale of its land or property.

The NHL, as the sole owner of Navy lands, deals directly with its subscribers; hence, the NHL calls on potential subscribers not to deal with any individual fronting as an agent.“While we work to identify those behind this attempted fraud, the NHL reiterates that anyone interested in acquiring any of its lands or properties should visit its office on Aso Clinic Road, Asokoro, adjacent to the Army War College Nigeria.”
