…reaffairms confidence in troops’ readiness

Major General Oluyinka Soyele, Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force North West Operation Fansan Yamma, has reiterated the troops’ preparedness to tackle the Lakurawa terrorist group along the Nigeria-Niger border. This statement was made during his operational visit to the DHQ Special Operations Brigade in Balle, Sokoto State, where he assessed the readiness of the troops to counter the terrorist threat.
A press statement made available to newsmen by Coordinator Joint Media Coordination Centre, Operation Fansan Yamma states that; Major General Soyele stressed the importance of unwavering commitment from troops involved in Operation Flush Lakurawa Out. He underscored the crucial need to protect Nigeria’s territorial integrity, which he deemed “non-negotiable.” Soyele urged the troops to remain vigilant and determined as they work to disrupt the influence of the Lakurawa terrorist group, which poses a significant threat to peace and security in border communities.
While calling on local communities to join forces with security personnel in the fight against terrorism, General Soyele emphasized that community support is vital to the success of military operations and encouraged residents to collaborate actively with security forces. By building a strong partnership between troops and the community, General Soyele believes they can enhance operational effectiveness and present a united front against terrorism.
“Intelligence sharing and community cooperation would be fundamental in effectively addressing the challenges posed by insurgency and ensuring long-term peace.
“With clear communication and collaborative efforts, the mission to flush out the group aims not only to restore security but also to facilitate a stable environment conducive to community development and prosperity” he said.
