Police Intensify Security Efforts: 30,313 Arrests, 1,984 Firearms and 23,250 Ammunition Confiscated Ahead of Festival Season.

Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, recently convened a strategic meeting with senior police officers to reflect on the Nigeria Police Force’s achievements in 2024 and outline innovative plans for the upcoming year. This gathering served as a crucial platform for reviewing past accomplishments and devising adaptive strategies to tackle future challenges.

The IGP commended the Nigeria Police Force outstanding performance in 2024, highlighting their tireless efforts and commitment to reducing crime and fostering community engagement. Notably, the Force achieved significant milestones, including:

Arrests of 30,313 suspects apprehended for various serious crimes, recovery of 1,984 assorted firearms seized, 23,250 rounds of ammunition of varying calibers recovered, 1,581 kidnapped victims rescued. 

These accomplishments underscore the importance of collaborative efforts between the police and the public in building trust and promoting a safer society.

IGP Egbetokun outlined the Nigeria Police Force’s strategy for 2025, focusing on innovation and adaptability. According to the IGP, the force aims to leverage on technology and refine operational strategies to enhance crime prevention and investigation efforts. 

To achieve this goal, he encouraged senior officers to adopt modern tools and forward-thinking practices as this will not only boost the force effectiveness but also foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. By embracing innovation and progress, the Nigeria Police Force seeks to stay ahead of emerging challenges and better serve the community.

As festive season approches, the Police Force is committed  to ensuring a safe and secure environment for everyone. Under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, the Force is implementing measures to prevent crime and maintain law and order.

The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to building a stronger partnership with the public, ensuring safety, and promoting accountability. This commitment is reflected in its efforts to foster community engagement and policing, which involves working closely with community members to identify and address local issues.

By intensifying patrols, conducting raids on criminal hideouts, and bolstering crime prevention strategies, the Police Force aims to provide a secure atmosphere for citizens to enjoy the festive season.
