By Nkechi Eze

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has intensified high-level engagements with Nigeria’s top military leadership, holding strategic meetings with the Chief of Defence Staff, Olufemi Oluyede, and other Service Chiefs as part of efforts to strengthen the nation’s security architecture.

The courtesy visits, which form part of ongoing consultations with key stakeholders, provided a platform for in-depth discussions on enhancing inter-agency collaboration, improving intelligence sharing, and reinforcing joint operational frameworks to address prevailing security challenges across the country.

During the engagements, the IGP underscored the critical importance of sustained synergy between the Nigeria Police Force and the Armed Forces of Nigeria, noting that unified efforts remain indispensable in maintaining internal security, protecting lives and property, and ensuring national stability.

He stressed that the complexity of modern security threats demands coordinated responses, where intelligence-driven operations and seamless cooperation among security agencies serve as the backbone of effective national defence.

The meetings further reaffirm the commitment of Nigeria’s security leadership to deepening collaboration and adopting a whole-of-government approach in tackling insecurity, with a shared resolve to deliver lasting peace and stability across the country.
