Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested 18 individuals allegedly involved in supplying logistics to Boko Haram terrorists (BHTs), underscoring ongoing civilian complicity in sustaining insurgent activities across the North East.

According to preliminary reports, the suspects were intercepted while moving through Gubio towards the Gudumbali axis, reportedly intending to deliver supplies to terrorist elements. Initial confessions revealed that many were drawn into the illicit trade due to economic hardship, highlighting how insurgent networks exploit vulnerable populations for operational support.

The Nigerian Army issued a stern warning to all citizens against providing any form of assistance—logistics, intelligence, or otherwise—to terrorist groups, emphasizing that such collaboration constitutes a serious offence with grave consequences for national security and public safety.

Military authorities also stressed that the fight against terrorism requires collective commitment, urging host communities to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities, and resist inducements to aid criminal elements.

Beyond security operations, the Army highlighted the importance of socio-economic initiatives to strengthen resilience in affected areas. Support for empowerment programs, skills development, and access to basic services are essential to reduce vulnerability and discourage engagement with illicit networks.

The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding all communities and protecting law-abiding citizens, stressing that lasting peace and stability depend on a unified approach that combines effective security measures with community partnerships and developmental interventions.
