The Federal Government has flagged off the distribution of humanitarian relief materials to persons affected by recent banditry attacks in Yauri, Shanga and Bunza Local Government Areas of Kebbi State.

The intervention followed a rapid needs assessment conducted in line with established operational protocols to determine the scale of destruction and identify the most urgent requirements of impacted communities. Officials said the exercise enabled authorities to tailor the relief package toward cushioning the immediate hardship faced by displaced and affected households.

Flagging off the distribution on behalf of the Federal Government, the leadership of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) stated that the intervention reflects government’s resolve to provide timely support to victims of insecurity and disaster.

Authorities expressed sympathy with families and communities that suffered losses and displacement as a result of the attacks, assuring them that the Federal Government stands in solidarity with them during this difficult period.

The government of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, it was emphasised, remains committed to ensuring that no affected community is left without support, particularly in the aftermath of violent disruptions that threaten livelihoods and social stability.

NEMA further pledged sustained collaboration with the Kebbi State Government and other critical stakeholders to strengthen resilience, enhance preparedness and improve coordinated emergency response mechanisms across vulnerable communities.

The agency reaffirmed its mandate to respond swiftly and effectively whenever emergencies arise, noting that humanitarian assistance remains a key component of national efforts to stabilise affected populations and restore hope in communities impacted by insecurity.
