By Nkechi Eze

In a notable development within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, veteran journalist and seasoned politician, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, has formally declared his intention to contest for the position of State Publicity Secretary.

The declaration, made public through an open letter addressed to the party leadership, members, and the general public, positions Danfulani’s candidacy on what he describes as a “unique dual-pillar foundation,” combining over two decades of active political involvement as a founding member of the APC with an equally extensive career in journalism and strategic communication.

In his statement, Danfulani emphasized that his decision to run is “rooted in a lifelong commitment to progressive politics and a deep-seated passion for effective communication, public engagement, and party building.” He highlighted his journey with the APC “from inception,” underlining his role as a loyal and longstanding stakeholder in the party’s growth and operations.

Danfulani detailed that his broad political experience equips him with a nuanced understanding of party dynamics, grassroots engagement, and strategic planning—all critical for advancing the APC’s agenda. Coupled with his professional expertise in journalism, he noted that he possesses the ability to “craft compelling narratives, manage public perception, engage with diverse audiences, and deliver messages with clarity, integrity, and impact.”

Outlining his mission for the office, the aspirant pledged to infuse “professionalism, energy, and strategic communication” into the party’s operations in Kaduna State. He indicated that his tenure, if elected, would focus on articulating party policies and vision, amplifying the party’s voice, innovating publicity strategies, and fostering transparency to enhance the APC’s image across the state.

“I am stepping forward with a clear mission,” Danfulani stated, seeking the “support, trust, and mandate” of party delegates. He concluded with a call for unity, declaring: “Together, let us build a louder, prouder, and more cohesive APC in Kaduna State.”

The contest for the Publicity Secretary role is expected to attract keen attention, given the strategic importance of the office in managing the party’s narrative within the dynamic political landscape of Kaduna. Danfulani’s entry, combining extensive political grounding with professional media expertise, positions him as a formidable contender in the forthcoming APC internal elections.
