The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic attack in Biu Emirate, Borno State, attributed to Boko Haram, extending heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the entire people of the Emirate.
The devastating assault, which occurred at a work site in North-East Nigeria, reportedly claimed the lives of dozens of people, including gallant soldiers who were on duty to safeguard lives and property.
In a statement released to the press and signed by the Chairman of the Foundation, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, Sadaukin Garkuwan Keffi/Betara Biu, the Grand Patron of the Foundation, His Excellency Ambassador Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai, CFR (Rtd), former Chief of Army Staff, described the incident as “one too many senseless, barbaric, and ruthless displays of inhumanity.”
The Grand Patron lamented the painful loss of innocent and hardworking citizens who were striving to contribute positively to the development of their communities, noting that such attacks leave deep scars on families and the nation at large.
He commended the swift and decisive response of military personnel to the incident, describing their actions as a reflection of unwavering patriotism and professionalism in the defence of the country.
General Buratai urged the troops to sustain the momentum in their operations against terrorists and other criminal elements, while acknowledging the enormous sacrifices made by officers and soldiers in the line of duty.
“May Almighty Allah forgive their souls and grant them Aljannah Firdouse,” he prayed, calling on Nigerians to honour the fallen heroes by strengthening national unity and collective resolve to overcome insecurity.
He further stressed the importance of collective action and community involvement in tackling the security challenges confronting the nation, urging concerned citizens to intensify efforts toward building a strong, peaceful, and resilient society that future generations can be proud of.
“Together, we can surmount these troubles,” he stated, while appealing to patriotic leaders and citizens across the country to unite against violence, extremism, and all forms of criminality.
The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote peace, security, unity, and sustainable development, noting that the foundation will continue to stand with communities affected by violence.
As it condoled with the bereaved families and the people of Biu Emirate, the Foundation also called on all segments of society to work collaboratively toward the creation of a safer and more prosperous Nigeria.
It concluded with prayers for Allah’s guidance and protection over the nation, and for the attainment of enduring peace across all parts of the country.
