The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, on Christmas Day, 25 December 2025, marked the festive season with personnel of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) deployed at the frontlines, as he shared a special luncheon with troops and extended goodwill messages across all operational theatres of the Service.
The Christmas engagement underscored the CAS’s deliberate effort to sustain morale, demonstrate empathy, and personally recognise the sacrifices of officers, airmen and airwomen who remained on duty to safeguard the nation while others celebrated with their families.
In an official signed statement, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed that the luncheon provided an opportunity for close interaction between serving and retired senior officers, other critical security stakeholders, and frontline NAF personnel. In a coordinated demonstration of inclusive leadership, similar engagements were held simultaneously across all operational locations in Kainji, Katsina, Maiduguri, Port Harcourt, Makurdi, Kaduna and Enugu. At each of these locations, the CAS’s Christmas goodwill message was delivered while luncheons were hosted for troops deployed within the respective areas of responsibility.
Addressing personnel across the various theatres, the CAS reaffirmed the operational importance of their presence during the festive period. He noted that their unwavering vigilance sent a clear message that the Nigerian Air Force remains alert, resolute and fully committed to denying criminal elements any opportunity to exploit the season. “Your vigilance during this season sends a clear message that the Nigerian Air Force remains alert, resolute, and fully committed to denying criminal elements any respite, regardless of the time or season,” he said, adding that the dedication of frontline troops continues to reassure Nigerians and strengthen public confidence in ongoing security efforts nationwide.
Reiterating his Command Philosophy, Air Marshal Aneke emphasised that troop welfare remains central to mission success and operational effectiveness. According to him, motivated and well-supported personnel are critical to sustaining air power and achieving mission objectives. He assured officers and airmen that the Nigerian Air Force would continue to prioritise improved living conditions, enhanced logistics support, quality medical care and timely welfare initiatives aimed at boosting morale and combat readiness across all theatres of operation.
