The Nasarawa State Police Command has deployed 2,231 police personnel across the state as part of an extensive security arrangement aimed at protecting lives and property before, during, and after the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year celebrations. The deployment covers all police formations in the state and targets key areas where large crowds are expected, including places of worship, recreational centres, markets, motor parks, highways, and other public venues.

In an official statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, highlighted that the deployment is designed to provide comprehensive security coverage throughout the festive period. He noted that police personnel have been strategically positioned to ensure rapid response to any threat while maintaining law and order across the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, directed the deployed personnel to intensify visibility policing, round-the-clock patrols, stop-and-search operations, and intelligence-led surveillance to prevent criminal activities. Special attention has been given to known flashpoints, black spots, and border communities to pre-empt any potential security challenges.

Traffic management has also been prioritized, with personnel deployed to ensure the smooth flow of vehicles, minimize road congestion, and enhance road safety during the celebrations. CP Shetima emphasized that the security arrangement aims to reassure residents that the police are fully committed to maintaining a peaceful, safe, and crime-free environment.

Members of the public have been urged to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and cooperative with security operatives. Citizens are encouraged to report suspicious movements or activities promptly to the nearest police station or via the Command’s emergency lines: 08112692680, 08032875187, 08037461715, and 07032532391.

The Nasarawa State Police Command also extended warm festive greetings to residents, wishing them a peaceful and joyous Christmas and reiterating its resolve to sustain public safety beyond the holiday period.
