The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, on Friday held an audience with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the China–Nigeria Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and advancing mutually beneficial cooperation across key sectors.
During the meeting held on 5 December 2025, Ambassador Yu praised the steady progress in bilateral relations, noting that through the joint efforts of both governments, the China–Nigeria partnership has “entered a fast track” of growth. He emphasized that the two nations have consistently shown understanding and support for each other on matters touching on their core interests.
The envoy reiterated China’s support for Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and foster national stability. He stressed that Beijing remains ready to work closely with Abuja to accelerate the implementation of the zero-tariff policy on Nigerian exports to China, strengthen the alignment of both countries’ development strategies, and consolidate strategic mutual trust.
According to Ambassador Yu, these efforts will help elevate the long-standing relationship between the two nations to new heights, delivering tangible benefits to the peoples of China and Nigeria.
