The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recorded a major operational success after precision air interdiction missions obliterated a strategic terrorist stronghold at the Sauri bandit camp in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The strikes were carried out on 14 November 2025 by the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA.

In an official signed statement, the Director of Public Relations and Information of the NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the operation followed comprehensive intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance efforts, which confirmed heightened terrorist activity on a high-ground hideout being used as both a defensive shield and logistics hub. The site also harboured rustled livestock concealed by the criminals.

Acting on the verified intelligence, NAF aircraft executed coordinated precision strike passes, hitting the designated targets directly. Surviving terrorists attempting to escape into nearby vegetation were tracked and effectively engaged by follow-on air actions.

The operation resulted in the neutralisation of several terrorists and the destruction of key structures and logistics facilities within the camp, an outcome that significantly weakens the criminals’ operational capability in the area.

According to the statement, the mission reflects the unwavering posture of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, who has repeatedly affirmed the resolve of the NAF to “find them, hunt them down, and protect our people.” The latest strike further underscores the sustained momentum of the Joint Task Force and Operation FANSAN YAMMA in denying terrorists safe havens and reinforcing stability across Zamfara State.

The NAF reiterated its commitment to supporting broader national efforts aimed at restoring lasting peace and security across the North West region.
