The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced plans to conduct its annual 10-kilometre Walk/Jog Exercise in Abuja on Saturday, 18 October 2025, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the physical fitness, mental alertness, and operational readiness of its personnel.
According to an official statement signed by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the exercise is scheduled to begin at 6:00 a.m. and end by 8:00 a.m. The event is part of the Service’s tradition of promoting healthy living and endurance among its officers and airmen.
Air Commodore Ejodame explained that the exercise underscores the Air Force’s continuous commitment to ensuring that its personnel maintain peak physical condition, a key requirement for optimal performance in military operations.
He further announced that, during the two-hour exercise, the service lane between Karu Bridge and Mogadishu Cantonment Bridge will be temporarily closed to vehicular movement to ensure the safety of both participants and members of the public.
“The Nigerian Air Force wishes to reassure residents of the Federal Capital Territory that adequate arrangements have been made to minimise any inconvenience that may arise during the exercise. Normal traffic flow will resume immediately after the event,” the statement added.
The NAF also expressed appreciation to the general public for their understanding and cooperation, reiterating its resolve to maintain high standards of physical fitness among its personnel as part of its broader mission readiness strategy in service to the nation.
