The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO).

The appointment was announced in an official statement signed by the outgoing FPRO, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who described Hundeyin as a seasoned communicator with extensive academic and professional credentials.

CSP Hundeyin holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in English Language from Lagos State University and a Master of Science in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan. He also obtained a Certificate in Civil-Military Coordination from the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre, Jaji, Kaduna State. Professionally, he is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a Member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).

His career has spanned diverse and strategic roles within the Force. He previously served as the Police Public Relations Officer at Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos; was part of Nigeria’s contingent to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan (UNAMID) in 2020; and functioned as Administration Officer at the Force Public Relations Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja. Until his present elevation, Hundeyin was the Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Police Command, where he was widely recognized for his proactive and engaging communication style.

The Inspector-General of Police has charged the new FPRO to deploy his vast experience in communication and security management towards strengthening the Nigeria Police Force’s public relations efforts. He urged Hundeyin to sustain the momentum of positive engagement with the public and deepen trust between the Police and citizens.

CSP Hundeyin officially assumes duties with immediate effect and will be accessible for media and public enquiries through his contact details: 07062606717 and benjamin@hundeyin.com.
