Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), in collaboration with local security outfits and supported by the Air Component Command’s Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform, have eliminated twelve fighters of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) during long-range offensive operations conducted between August 29 and 30, 2025.

According to an official statement issued by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai, the operation was part of a series of targeted commando raids designed to dismantle terrorist strongholds in Borno State. The troops cleared several locations, including Tamsu Ngamdu, Dalakaleri, and Gaza, which had been under terrorists’ influence.

The fiercest confrontation took place at Loskori Kura, where troops encountered a group of insurgents. A heavy gun battle ensued, leading to the neutralization of twelve terrorists. “On arrival at a suspected terrorists’ location at Loskori Kura, troops made contact where twelve insurgents were neutralized after a heavy gun duel,” Lieutenant Colonel Uba stated.

The operation also resulted in the recovery of a significant cache of weapons and logistics. Items seized included eight AK-47 rifles, eight magazines fully loaded with 7.62mm rounds of ammunition, as well as assorted drugs and medical supplies believed to have been used by the terrorists to sustain their fighters in the field.

Military authorities have commended the gallant troops for their resilience and renewed vigour in the fight against insurgency. The high command further urged the Theatre Command of Operation Hadin Kai to sustain the momentum of the onslaught until the remnants of terrorist elements are completely destroyed.
