The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), engaged in a World Bank Lesson Learned Exercise (LLE) of the 2022 flood, today the 11th of March, 2024; alongside Critical Stakeholders of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Local Government Chairmen with their Local Emergency Management Committees (LEMC), Community Leaders, Faith Based Organisations (FBOs) and Community Based Organisations (CBOs).
The LLE comprised of a two-day workshop, a face-to-face interface session and work book questioner, with the objective to look at the country’s emergency preparedness and response structure, system and resource while identifying its strength, weakness and potential option for improvement alongside capacity building.
The programme was aimed at allowing key Government officials to discuss the country’s system, procedure and experience from the different perspectives, capacities and placement of each stakeholder in disaster management during and after repsonse to disaster (2022 flood).
