The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has expressed grief over the death of former Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbeh, who passed away at the age of 78.
In an official signed statement, the Director, Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Segun Imohiosen disclosed that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, CON, described Ogbeh’s passing as a national tragedy and a personal loss, noting their deep bond rooted in shared heritage and dedication to serving the people of Benue State and the country.
Chief Ogbeh, who served Nigeria in various capacities across different administrations, was Minister of Communications in the Second Republic and later Minister of Agriculture under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari. Senator Akume noted that his public service was marked by exceptional commitment to national development.
He recalled that since joining politics in the 1970s as a legislator, Ogbeh remained steadfast in championing progress and unity.
The SGF, on behalf of FEC, commiserated with the people of Benue State, his immediate family, friends, and political associates, praying for God to grant the departed eternal rest and comfort to those he left behind.
