The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, CON, has charged the management team of the newly inaugurated North-Central Development Commission (NCDC) to embrace teamwork as a foundation for the effective delivery of the Commission’s mandate.

This call was made on Monday during a courtesy visit by a high-powered delegation of the Board of the NCDC led by its Chairman, Barrister Cosmas Akighir. The visit took place at the Office of the SGF in Abuja.

In an official statement signed by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information & Public Relations, the SGF congratulated the NCDC board on their well-deserved appointment and emphasized that the success of the Commission would depend largely on the level of cohesion, mutual respect, and collaboration among its leadership.

“It is what you decide to do as a team that will shape the Commission,” Senator Akume said. “Work as a team and the result will be spectacular. I want to emphasise the need for teamwork. Work as a team and the sky will be your limit.”

Senator Akume further noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has entrusted the newly appointed board with a significant national responsibility, expressing confidence in their capacity to bring about meaningful development in the North-Central geopolitical zone.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the NCDC Board, Barr. Cosmas Akighir, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and the SGF for the trust and confidence reposed in the board members. He also appealed for continued support from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation to enable the Commission to fulfill its developmental objectives.

“We appreciate the President and your office for believing in our capacity to serve. We understand the enormity of the task before us and we are committed to working tirelessly to deliver tangible results to the people of the North-Central region,” Akighir stated.
