The Nasarawa State Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation into the suspected abduction of Barrister Yusuf Musa, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information in Nasarawa State.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, disclosed in an official statement that the incident came to light at about 3:05 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, when a patrol team from B Division, Lafia, discovered a Peugeot pick-up van with all its doors suspiciously left wide open. Further checks led officers to the victim’s residence, where they observed that the gate to the house was ajar, raising immediate security concerns.

A rapid search of the premises confirmed that Barr. Yusuf Musa was missing, and his GMC vehicle, with registration number KUJ 88 PA, had also vanished. These findings have fueled strong suspicions of a targeted abduction.

In response to the development, the Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, activated a coordinated tactical operation. All police divisions across the state, including Akwanga, Andaha, Garaku, and Kadarko, were alerted, while surveillance units were deployed along key strategic routes in a bid to intercept the suspects.

CP Mohammed has ordered an intensive manhunt for the perpetrators and reaffirmed the Command’s determination to secure the safe return of the victim and ensure that those behind the incident are swiftly apprehended.

The Command called on members of the public to remain calm but vigilant, urging anyone with relevant information to report to the nearest police station or reach out via the Command’s emergency contact lines: 08036157659, 08037461715, and 07032532391.
