Defence Minister Mourns Former President Buhari, Hails His Legacy of Service and Integrity

The Honourable Minister of Defence, His Excellency Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, has extended his deepest condolences to the family of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on Sunday in London.

In a statement issued by the Principal Superintendent of Press, Patience Ituke, the Minister described the passing of the former Nigerian leader as a profound loss not only to his family but to the entire nation, which he served with unwavering dedication and patriotism.

Hon. Minister Badaru emphasized that President Buhari’s time in office was marked by steadfast commitment to national development, security, and progress. He noted that the former President’s legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts of Nigerians, especially for his integrity, leadership style, and relentless pursuit of a better Nigeria.

“On behalf of the Ministry of Defence and the Nigerian Armed Forces, I convey our heartfelt condolences to the family, government, and people of Nigeria, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on the passing of Former President Muhammadu Buhari,” the Minister stated.

“We remember his dedication to democracy, stability, and the unity of our nation, as well as his unwavering commitment to the anti-corruption crusade, which endeared him to many Nigerians.”

The Minister prayed for the peaceful repose of the late President’s soul, asking Almighty Allah to grant him Aljannah Firdausi and to comfort his family and all Nigerians with the strength to bear what he described as a great national loss.
