In a swift and coordinated operation, operatives of the Doma Division of the Nasarawa State Police Command have arrested four suspected members of a notorious car snatching syndicate and recovered a stolen Toyota Venza, less than 24 hours after it was forcefully taken at gunpoint in Enugu State.
An official signed statement by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Ramhan Nansel, revealed that the operation took place on June 1, 2025, at about 6:00 p.m., following credible intelligence. The suspects were intercepted and arrested along the Doma-Lafia Road while attempting to escape with the stolen vehicle.

The arrested suspects are Ibrahim Dahiru, a 30-year-old male from Angwan Rogo, Jos, Plateau State; Abdulrazaq Muhammed, a 27-year-old male also from Angwan Rogo, Jos, Plateau State; Muhammad Sani, 28 years old, from Potiskum, Yobe State; and Mustapha Isah, 23 years old, from Misau, Bauchi State.
The suspects allegedly conspired to snatch a black Toyota Venza with registration number KWL 668 GN (Abuja) at gunpoint in Enugu State. Through prompt action and inter-state cooperation, the police successfully tracked their movements and recovered the vehicle during the arrest.
Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, described the arrest as a significant breakthrough in the ongoing fight against organized car theft and other criminal activities in the state. He commended the swift response of the operatives and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order.
“This operation reflects our unwavering resolve to tackle crime in all its forms. The arrest of these suspects is a clear message that Nasarawa State will not be a safe haven for criminals,” the CP stated.
He assured members of the public that investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the syndicate’s operations and to recover any other stolen property. The suspects remain in police custody and will be prosecuted accordingly.
